Crepe City was a smash and now we’re moving on up to Move It later this week. 3 full days with 25000+ dance enthusiasts – this could be fun, ha. A little reminder of Crepe City should allude to what’s in store at Move It
Props to Loose Wires own, Superfly, for coming through, providing a couple of the shots above AND holding down the strong toprock solo in the video you just watched. In the picture above, Superfly rocks Nike Royals with limited edition violet Shoeture Hooks. The boy done good.
Stay tuned for news on Move It, Folks, it will be big!
Things are heating up here at HQ. With Crepe City finally arriving today (see previous post), I thought it was important to get a ‘uniform’ so that the general public could spot us easily.
I was tempted to model it for your viewing pleasure but figured I’d leave that to ‘Ten’ (who you’ll meet at Crepe City) or ’1-Girl’ (see video below). They’re the pros
Having a look around Oxford Street it became apparent that advertising IN the store is just as important as OUT, so we got these sexy ‘strut cards’ printed to decorate our table.
Fingers crossed, they’ll light the place up!
Might be worth mentioning we’re running 2 competitions at Crepe City. 1 prize is some Shoeture merchandise and the other is 2 free tickets to our exhibition NEXT week, ‘Move It’. Be sure to visit us at Crepe City to be in with a chance of winning.
1 Girl and her Hooks
As some of our supporters know already, we like to drop some interesting videos and you may have a favourite already.
Our new series is called ’1 Girl and her Hooks’, where our lead character, 1-Girl, shows us how she uses Shoeture Hooks in her day-to-day life, often with hilarious results.
Please enjoy the short trailer, and click through to our YouTube channel to see the first episode
Since introducing Shoeture to the UK late last summer I’ve been fortunate enough to attend some pretty interesting events. Fashion parties, album launches and a foot-fetishists gathering* (honestly) have all at some point fought for attention on my calendar.
Attending these events and meeting so many interesting people has been a real eye-opener in many ways, since I had no real ‘fashion retail’ experience, but it seems I’ve only touched the tip of the iceberg.
Turns out there are events IDEAL for Shoeture! I decided we had to be a part of Crepe City and Move It.
Crepe City is the UK’s most celebrated sneaker fair, and is held at Bar Music Hall in the Shoreditch area of east London.
Footwear enthusiasts from around Europe are expected to attend in search of rare and exclusive kicks, and discover upcoming street labels. In some ways, Crepe City is also a bit of an art gallery, as you will be wowed by some of the bespoke footwear on display. It’s not unusual to see people cram their foot into something a half-size too small, but you’re just as likely to find the shoe of your dreams!
Come visit our table and leave with something shiny
Our second upcoming exhibition is a completely different prospect. ‘Move It‘ is the UK’s largest dance exhibition and is held at Kensington Olympia over 3 full days, expecting 25k+ guests.
Performances, workshops, battles and shopping are among numerous activities to experience on the weekend of March 9-11, and we (plus our stand partners, B-Better) look forward to meeting some of the lovely public. You know we’re giving away a couple of tickets, right? Follow us on Twitter for details.
Shoeture products are now available to buy in the Zakura Store in London’s Trocadero (nearest tube, Piccadilly Circus), and I popped in last week to give a demonstration off how to apply Hooks in record speed (as seen in a previous video).

A limited number of Hooks are currently available for £35 for 10 bars (which is cheaper than the website). Contact them or us for details on colours and styles in stock remaining.
FUNKINSENCE!… the sweet scent of “Shoeberia”
At time of going to press, it is only 2 days until the release of our special “Shoeberia” video using the amateur dancers of the Unidance project in Yakutsk, Siberia. To wet your appetite of things to come we dropped you a little teaser video featuring one of our feature dancers, Tuyara Tomskaya.
In this video Tuyara models the much-coveted Shoeture ‘Beatfreak’ Kings, and be sure to subscribe to our channel to be the first to see the full Shoeberia video on Boxing Day.
We’re all about launching new stars here, so mail us or comment below on any artist or act you think we should do a shoot with. Aight! ^_^
MYRRH-DA!…. Crepe City returns to finish us off
Just caught wind that the UK’s illest sneaker fair / event, Crepe City is making a comeback in March 2012, and here at Shoeture we are VYING to get a stand this time!
To get a feel of the atmosphere, enjoy this video by Hypebeast of the previous event in September.
That’s all for now, Folks. See you in “Shoeberia” and get ready for our upcoming competition, “Hermet wants a husband” where you can win a Shoeture goodie just for entering! Hit us on Twitter for the insight >> @ShoetureUK
Some of you may remember the ‘French’ themed post I did a couple of months ago, and yes I will admit there was a pretty sedate effort to speak the language, but one French word I’m CERTAIN of is ‘crepe‘.
Well at least I WAS!
If anyone can tell us how the word ‘crepes’ became slang for trainers / sneakers, please post it as a comment below, but before you do that, appreciate the event that is Crepe City - The London Sneaker Festival
Shaun from Kazmattazz at Crepe City
Thanks to our people at Kazmattazz we also had the good fortune to exhibit at the event and have been wading through the orders ever since
Shoeture at Crepe City
We’re hoping that this event will come around more often so more collectors are able to exhibit. Yes, Crepe City is THAT popular!
Next week (29th September, to be precise) we are gonna be judging the “Dope Pose” competition at B-Better‘s event, The B Connection.
'The B Connection' September 29th
This long awaited event promises to be a night of freshness and flavour, and in featuring former DMC world DJ champion, Psykhomantus, and the first lady of ‘I Love Live’ and ‘Female DJ Takeover’, Melody Kane, we’re preparing to sing along to some party classics, at Villain Bar.
The B-Better team have stated that the first person to recognise which film has inspired the poster and video below, will receive free entry for themselves and 2 guests on the night. Just leave a comment on the blog!
Mac Miller on Nikes
A man that stands a good chance of competing at the ‘Pose Down’ battle at The B Connection is rap superstar freshman, Mac Miller
His hotly anticipated debut album, BlueSlide Park, is released worldwide on November 11, and having caught Mac’s previous mixtape, K.I.D.S., we can vouch for the boy’s skills.
If you haven’t peeped the ‘Nikes on my feet’ video above, what are you waiting for?!
